Enhancements:

While configuring a business flow, it is possible to restrict business flow analysis to one or more specific business event buckets (up to 10 selected buckets), so all DQL queries will scan a smaller amount of bytes, increasing performance in the queries and reducing DPS license consumption on every run.
This new filter based on the business events buckets applies to the whole application (edit and analytics) and, additionally, it injects the filter in the DQL queries when defining alerts for the main KPIs for Anomaly Detection.
Application will alert when timeframe selected in analysis is outside from the retention time defined on one of the configured buckets, so users are alerted that there is missing data in the detected bucket.

Updated the Problem button when the app is in problem investigation mode to its latest version. Same functionality, but enhanced usage.
Added a logic that sets a business flow configuration as a entity when certain conditions are achieved (minimum two steps and correlation id defined), alerting with a note on such action. Also, existing business flows configurations that are edited, if they fit on the conditions, a note is inviting the user to activate entity creation.
Business flow configurations that are defined as entities will use the defined monitoring timeframe of KPIs as the default timeframe on load of the configuration in view mode. Non entity business flows keep the -3d days by default timeframe

This is a next step in completing the concept of Business flow as an entity. Smartscape edges are now introduced to represent the connection of the BIZ_FLOW entity with HOST and PROCESS Smartscape entities.
These edges reflect the monitored hosts and processes that affect the business events used to define a business flow configuration, making relationships more visible and easier to troubleshoot.
Those new edges are defined under “uses” relationship between BIZ_FLOW and the other entities.
The edges are refreshed at the same frequency as the entity BIZ_FLOW.

With this release Dynatrace introduces a new entity in Smartscape: a business flow configuration
This new entity can be set in Edit mode during the configuration of a business flow. It requires a new permission on the policies called business-analytics:business-flows:write
The new entity type is known as BIZ_FLOW an can be queried using smartscapeNodes BIZ_FLOW DQL command
For this release, the maximum number of BIZ_FLOW entities allowed are five (5) per tenant
Activation of a business flow as an entity also allows to trigger business impact analysis on IT problems, that will display in Problems app as business flows impacted in case there is a connection between IT affected entities and business flow entity
To see affected business flows in Problems app, you require a new permission in the policy business-analytics:business-flows:read
From Problems app, you can navigate from a problem to business flows affected in problem investigation mode
Problem investigation mode will display a new UI set in the problem’s timeframe displaying the flow tree and business KPIs. You can switch between impacted business flows of a same problem.

Resolved an issue in Edit mode that made the app crash when switching between edges while making changes in the configuration.
Although it is not a best practice using double numbers for correlation IDs (it is better to use long or string type), now it is possible to search for values of Correlation ID of unique flows in the right panel that are double type. The match between provided value and unique flows is limited for the non-decimal part of the correlation ID when it is double type.

Adapted the UI to allocate long event providers names in the edit mode dropdown business event selector.
When exploring long time frames or big amounts of data, it may happen that DQL queries hit Grail’s limit of 500 GB. A new warning pop up will appear and it will allow you to run the DQL queries on that configuration without limits.

Enhancements

Enhanced table view in the explore unique flow modal that allows easier search and column reordering. Also, there is a new intent button to open the same view in other apps like Notebooks or Dashboards, and a new button to download the details in CSV.
To make more readable content in tables there is a text warp button on explore unique flow modal, and for each row, at the rightest you can find the intent button to open any of the elements of that row that are entities in other apps for deeper analysis
The captured business events that are configured as business exceptions are now colored in red to highlight them in the explore unique flow modal
Each displayed cell in the table view allows copy its value
You can interact now with the isolated events in the right panel, opening in the explore unique flows modal to see all the attributes of that isolated event
During configuration of a business flow, the selector of events or business exceptions in an step has its own scrolling panel

Bug fixes

In case of having an error while saving a configuration the error message toast will be clearly highlighted to alert the user that there was a failure while saving it and with the proper description of the reason of the failure.
